Terms of Use
Last updated: September 10, 2026. US-oriented basic terms for an informational decision-research site.
Agreement
By using Water Decision Guide (waterdecisionguide.com), you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
What the site is
Informational content and decision tools related to residential whole-house water treatment (softeners, filters, conditioners, and related topics). The site is independently operated for decision research. It is not a coupon or deals marketplace and not a substitute for professional advice.
No medical advice
Nothing on this site is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment recommendation for any health condition. Water quality and health questions that concern you medically should be directed to a qualified clinician and, where appropriate, a laboratory or public-health resource. We do not invent health, contaminant-removal, or disease-related claims.
Certifications and performance claims
Any discussion of NSF, WQA, IAPMO, or similar certifications is meant to reflect official listings. You must verify current listings yourself before relying on a certification or performance claim. We do not guarantee that any product will perform as marketed. See Methodology.
Affiliate disclosure
Third-party sites linked from here (retailers, certifiers, manufacturers) have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
No warranties
The site is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by US law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that content is complete, current, or error-free, or that the site will be uninterrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Water Decision Guide and its operator(s) are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or purchase decisions arising from your use of the site or reliance on any content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site will not exceed USD $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed.
Your responsibilities
- Test or obtain reliable water data before buying treatment equipment when decisions depend on water chemistry.
- Follow local plumbing codes and manufacturer instructions; hire licensed professionals where required.
- Do not misuse the site (scraping that harms the service, attempting unauthorized access, or republishing content as if it were certification authority).
Intellectual property
Site text and design are owned by Water Decision Guide / its operator unless otherwise noted. You may link to our pages and quote brief excerpts with attribution for non-commercial commentary. NSF, WQA, IAPMO, and product names are trademarks of their respective owners.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Water Decision Guide and its operator(s) from claims arising out of your misuse of the site or your violation of these Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence provide otherwise. Courts in Texas may hear disputes, subject to applicable law.
Changes
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
